The Risk of Chasing the Cheapest Plans in Frisco

here are two common risks when shopping for electricity in Frisco:

1. Chasing the absolute cheapest rate online
This is one of the biggest mistakes shoppers make. In many cases, the cheapest rate you find on other websites, Google AI summaries, or ChatGPT may lead you to a bill credit plan.
That is a problem because bill credit plans are some of the most misleading plans in the Texas deregulated market. They can look very cheap at first, but if your monthly usage does not fall within the right range, your bill can end up much higher than expected. In some cases, people overpay by hundreds of dollars over the life of the contract, especially if they live in a small apartment or have lower usage.
That is why this page does not include gimmick plans.

2. Chasing the cheapest true fixed plan
Even when you focus only on true fixed plans, there is still another risk. On Power to Choose and on this page, we show the cheapest true fixed plans for transparency. However, some of the companies offering those lowest rates may come with billing, communication, and customer service problems. For example, they may later sell your contract to another company, communication may be poor, billing may become confusing, or customer support may be weak.

Sometimes the lowest-priced companies are able to offer those rates because they cut costs in other areas, and that can affect the overall customer experience.
