- Are TDU delivery charges included?
- The benchmark uses the plan’s published average EFL price at 1,000 kWh, which reflects the charges included in that disclosed average. A specific bill can differ because of usage and plan-specific pricing rules.
- Why do Houston and Dallas have different electricity rates?
- Houston is primarily served by CenterPoint and Dallas–Fort Worth by Oncor. Each TDU has different regulated delivery charges, and providers may publish different offers by service territory.
- What is a True Fixed electricity plan?
- For this dataset, True Fixed identifies plans whose pricing behaves consistently across common usage levels and does not depend on bill credits or time-of-use discounts.
- Does a low historical benchmark mean I should switch plans?
- Not by itself. Use the history as context, then compare the full EFL, contract term, cancellation fee and estimated bill for your own usage before choosing a plan.
- Why is my quoted rate different from the chart?
- The chart is an average benchmark, not an individual offer. Your available plans, usage level, ZIP code, enrollment date and plan features can produce a different price.
- How often is the historical data updated?
- The application records one benchmark snapshot per day when qualifying plan data is available.
