We built Clear Energy Facts to put users first. Here’s how we fund the site and how sponsorship works.
In plan search, we may feature one sponsored plan in a clearly labeled top placement, only if it is already in the top 25 results after your filters, ranked by your estimated cost or selected usage rate. We take each sponsor company's cheapest eligible non-PTC plan and randomly choose one, giving each eligible company an equal chance. The card shows its true global rank (e.g., “#7 overall”). Sponsorship does not change rankings or prices.
If you click our link to a provider and enroll on that provider’s website, we may receive a referral fee or commission from that provider. This fee is paid by the provider and does not change your price.
Our comparison logic is independent. Plans are ranked by total estimated cost based on plan rules and your usage. Providers do not control our methodology, tags, or rankings. See the Terms of Use for details (e.g., calendar-month modeling and a 7% validation tolerance).
When you choose a plan, we send you to the provider’s website to complete enrollment there. Always confirm the current Electricity Facts Label (EFL), plan availability, and pricing on the provider’s site before enrolling.
